Superior suspension
To ensure off-road performance and neutral handling in various types of road environments, SHOWA suspension has been used in both front and rear. Inverted front forks are made of forged aluminium for lighter weight and optimum balance between strength and rigidity. Rear suspension has a spring preload adjuster, pressurized shock absorber with a separate tank and Pro Link aluminium hybrid swing arm for high manoeuvrability.
Aerodynamic performance and wind protection
The Transalp’s body lines have been specifically designed to reduce wind drag and rider fatigue. For open visibility forward, and excellent wind deflection, the screen’s height has been carefully optimised. Its compact width also minimises turbulence from trapped air.
Honda assist slipper clutch
The assist and slipper clutch includes an assist function to reduce the operation load of the clutch lever as well as a slipper function to mitigate impacts from rapid engine braking accompanying downshifting.
